Snowmobiling Angel Fire

For our snowmobile tour, we had to be at the bottom of the lift at 8:45 am. It took about 20 minutes to get up the “Chile Express.” At the top, the guide informed us that it's the longest, 4-person high-speed lift in the country. We rode the snowmobiles for about 2 hours. We wound our way through the forest and got some great views of the mountains and the valleys below. Our vehicles got wrecked more than one time. It was very easy to do. If you stray off the packed trail for one moment, your chances of falling into the soft snow goes way up.

With our toes and fingers frozen stiff, we ended our snowmobile tour and headed down the Chile Express. This was the coldest part. We faced a stiff headwind for the 20 minutes it took to get down and we counted the lift chairs in Spanish to pass the time.

After we got back inside we ate some lunch and then took a nap. At about 2:30 pm, we headed out for Taos to do some shopping. My mom and Courtney had earned their “boutiquing” time and Eric needed to find a Christmas gift for Noelia. We took the 45 minute drive north-west and walked around the town square for a couple of hours. At dinner time, we asked for a recommendation from a local and ended up at a place called Ronnie Lee's just off the square. We ordered a bottle of Malbec and enjoyed a long dinner.

When we got back to Angel Fire, it was more Rook before we hit the sack. Jenna and I were partners and lost to Eric and Dad 2 out of 3.
